Pain in the lumbar region in most people is associated with sciatica, although the causes of its occurrence are quite varied.
Such symptoms accompany not only the defeat of paravertebral structures, but also many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and genitourinary system, as well as metabolic disorders and oncological processes.
That is why, before using alternative methods, it is highly recommended to consult a doctor and find out the cause of pain.
In addition, acute back pain is not always stopped by the usual methods - pills or lotions. Sometimes surgery or therapeutic restrictions are required.
A complex approach
If the back is sore in the lumbar region, the most common diagnosis is "osteochondrosis" or "intervertebral hernia". The key condition for successful treatment is the elimination of the causative factor that causes pain. Otherwise, medications or physiotherapy will become helpless, and the disease will become chronic.
Back and spine treatment begins with a frugal regimen, which means the rejection of any physical activity. For severe pain, bed rest is recommended. To speed recovery and eliminate discomfort, doctors advise to buy orthopedic pillows and mattresses.
This will reduce the load on the spine, prevent nerve endings compression and muscle spasms. If it is not possible to buy a special device, then it is better to sleep on a mattress with medium hardness, and choose a pillow with medium thickness.
Drug therapy prescribed by a doctor usually includes not only anti-inflammatory and painkillers, but also vitamin complexes. During the recovery period, physiotherapy, exercise therapy, massage are carried out. As an additional method, you can use folk remedies, which should be agreed in advance with your doctor. With a known diagnosis and specialist approval, home spine treatment will be more effective.

Men are considered more prone to sciatica because they engage in physical work or sports, lift and carry heavy loads, drive for long periods of time, and are often overweight. Therefore, they often complain that they are "gripping the back" or "pinched" in the lumbar region.
Low back pain can happen anywhere: at work, at the gym or at home. In this case, first aid measures will help:

- if there is a fur elastic belt, tie at the waist, attach the spine in a fixed position;
- lie on your back, bend your knees and place a cushion made of a towel or blanket folded under it. In this position, the lumbar muscles relax as much as possible.
When the described recommendations are followed, the pain usually subsides in about half an hour. If an attack of burn pain appears after a serious spinal cord injury, it is important to contact a traumatologist.
